February’s Culture Champion🏆: A Q&A with our Marketing Manager, Krishanthe Keerthikumar

Every month at Increasingly we honour our most-voted employee with the Culture Champion award. To be in the running for this award, our employees are consistently voted against our core values; quality, learn, help, win, ownership and delight.

This month, we’re sitting down with our Marketing Manager, Krishanthe Keerthikumar, who won the Culture Champion award for February, to explore her experience at Increasingly so far, what makes her tick and why she loves doing what she does!

Describe a typical day at Increasingly?

As cliche as it sounds, no day is ever the same in marketing. I have my hands in many pies, whether it’s planning our next webinar, creating social posts, sending out emails or creating new guides. So there’s always something interesting to get stuck into.

What is the one thing you didn’t expect from working in Martech when you first started?

B2B is notoriously known for not being as adventurous as B2C when it comes to marketing, but this is not the case in Martech. With a big focus on data and innovation, there’s always something new around the corner and a constant need to find disruptive ideas.

What made you get into marketing?

I have always been interested in the human psychology behind marketing. The fact that as marketers, we can use data and creativity to influence behaviours in our target audience fascinates me. And marketing is an ever-evolving field, so I can never be bored working in this sector!

What accomplishments are you most proud of?

I have worked in marketing for more than half a decade now and I think the biggest accomplishments I feel are when businesses start receiving the recognition and brand affirmation that I’ve been working so hard to build. Seeing those incremental wins, such as award wins, great external coverage, and growth in following all play a role in the long-term success of a brand, and being able to play a role in this is what makes me feel proud.

When you’re having a bad day, what do you do to make you feel better?

Going for a long walk with my headphones in is the kind of self-care that speaks to my soul. Whenever I’m having a bad day, or not feeling too great, I always step out for a walk and it does wonders for me!

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?

Comparison is the thief of joy. I think in an image-centric world, it’s so easy to get caught up in the idea of reaching big goals and getting big results. But in doing so, you neglect to appreciate the little wins you’ve achieved and how far you’ve actually come along the way.

Lastly, any book/podcast recommendations?

Diary of CEO is my go-to podcast at the moment, there are some really great interesting episodes!

Chloe Hall, Marketing Director at Increasingly, commented on Krishanthe’s recent achievement to say:

“Krish is a remarkable individual, her attitude, speed of learning and infectious positivity is felt by the whole team. I am incredibly lucky to work with a fellow marketer who challenges the status quo and is genuinely passionate about what she does. I have been blown away by her work since she joined!”
