In our ‘A day in the life of…’ blog series, we talk to an Increasingly employee about what they love about their job, what a typical day looks like, and their most memorable Increasingly moments.

We chatted with Dov, Solutions Consultant, to find out more about life on the busy Solutions team and discover his recipe for doing the job effectively.

What does a typical working day look like? Is there a typical day for you?

There isn’t!! That is one of the reasons I love my job so much, some days I will be back to back from 9-5 with calls, while others I get to go away and be creative with my approach to prospecting new clients. As anyone who knows me will attest, my attention span isn’t the greatest, so having a job with such autonomy and variety in the day-to-day is a dream for me.

What’s the best thing about your job?

As corny as it sounds, the people! I absolutely love the team I work with, the culture at Increasingly and the fact that my job allows me to speak to new people on a daily basis. The support and trust placed in me by my colleagues is what keeps me so motivated to perform.

What skills do you need to do your job effectively?

Interpersonal skills. The ability to connect with others and be able to read the body language and buying signals of whoever I’m speaking to will entirely dictate how I approach a conversation. I personally don’t think there is a ‘one-size fits all’ approach in sales, you need to be able to cater your conversation to the person in front of you and that, I think, is the key to a successful sales consultant.

Which teams do you work closely with?

Marketing, Customer Success & the design team. At least once a day they’ll hear from me and I’m so thankful for the help they constantly provide! (Of course, a special shoutout has to go to my wonderful colleagues in sales)

How do you measure success in your job?

It’s quite simple for me – my performance versus my sales target! Another good barometer though is the contribution you as an individual make to the culture and your colleagues. I think anyone who is truly successful is one who empowers and supports their colleagues, as well as focusing on their own successes.

What sort of company is Increasingly to work for?

An incredible environment for anyone who wants to feel as though they are an important individual who really makes an impact, rather than a cog in the big corporate machine. The nature of the founders is that everything, truly everything, is up for debate and everyone’s opinion is accounted for, allowing for any individual can contribute real change and growth to the business.
